Portrait® of the Month

Pre-treatment

60 Days Post

Here’s what this Portrait® patient had to say:

"As an Aesthetician, I'm more aware than the average person of all the available treatments on the market today for skin rejuvenation. Portrait® exceeded even my expectations! The discomfort and downtime were minimal and the results OUTSTANDING!!!" …… Marlene

Here’s what her physician had to say:

Marlene’s treatment was performed on a setting of 3 joules, one pass. She had a longer recovery than many patients, partially due to the excess skin and laxity of her eyelids, and partially because she slept on her face on a towel, causing abrasion and swelling of her lids. Even with this, she was back in make up by 10 days and had an uneventful recovery. We were all astonished with the tightening effect the Portrait treatment had on her face and her eyelids in particular.

My goal as a plastic surgeon is to improve and rejuvenate in a way that is very natural looking. Portrait gives me the ability to do this in a way that I could not achieve prior to using it. All the surgical re-draping and volumizing in the world does nothing to address the surface texture of the skin, so the effects cannot be as dramatic as we would like them to be without correcting the skin. The effectiveness of Portrait® Plasma, combined with its safety profile makes it very attractive to me as a clinician and to my patients.
Meghan K. McGovern, M.D., Coastal Empire Plastic Surgery, Savannah, GA

Success Stories

50 Cases in First 6 Months…facial & non-facial treatments

Edward Zimmerman, M.D., Cosmetic Surgeon, Las Vegas, NV

The Portrait® provides the versatility of low energy plasma treatments comparable to a single-pass laser resurfacing, to high energy plasma treatment that is highly comparable to mid-depth or deep laser resurfacing, without the complex and sometimes painful and prolonged post procedure skin care and cleansing of exudates. There also have not been any problems with prolonged healing, infection, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or delayed hypopigmentation thus far in my series.

Within the first 6 months and 50 cases, I've treated faces, scalps, anterior ears, necks, chests, torsos, hands and arms. I have been favorably impressed with the capabilities of the Portrait compared to both my CO2 and Erbium lasers that I've used for over a decade.

Furthermore, the treatment protocols, endpoints, and recovery have been easily mastered and predictable. There are no significant or visible lines of demarcation between high and low energy areas and even non treated areas after several weeks; the technique is "self-feathering". Also since the Portrait is FDA approved for full body treatment...unlike most lasers, it is far more versatile and increasingly economical as a revenue center.

Overall, the plasma technology is fast, mobile, user friendly, requires less anesthesia, less preparation and procedure time, has only a few hours of post-op discomfort and the recovery period requires very little patient hand-holding to achieve beautiful, dependable, reproducible results. My patients are happy with smooth, tight and normally pigmented skin after a minimum of down-time and discomfort.

Portrait Fills the Gap….combination treatments with Thermage

Virginia T. Stevens, M.D., F.A.A.C., Hypatia Aesthetics & Laser, PLLC, Woodinville, WA

"It was one of the best days of my cosmetic medical practice when I discovered the unique, powerful, and versatile treatment modality - Rhytec's Portrait®.

Portrait® fills the gap we all have in our cosmetic practices: deep, crosshatched wrinkles in sun damaged, weatherworn faces, necks, and elsewhere. These types of damaged skin are very difficult to treat successfully. But guess what? When you combine a face and neck Portrait® with a face and neck Thermage®in this difficult patient, you get very nice results, which used to be impossible. The combination of Rhytec Portrait® and Thermage® on the face and neck yield powerful synergistic skin tightening and lifting properties, not recognized before. The combination yields a higher number of skin tightening "responders" and therefore provides higher patient satisfaction.

Portrait® is elegant, user friendly, safe, the learning curve is short, and in my office this is the highest margin producing procedure we offer. It is quick, quite tolerable with the proper pre-procedural medicine regimen, much less hassle, pain and downtime compared with older CO2 lasers and easier to sell to clients, while assuring them of quite acceptable results.

Portrait® is the "icing on the cake" you've been waiting for to add a polished finish to your Thermage treatments or other procedures. My clinic's profitability went up about 30% with the addition of Portrait® to our offerings. And, Portrait® knows no age limits: my most senior patient receiving Portrait® and Thermage® combo is 88 years old, and looks fabulous!!

To be successful, you need to be "first out of the block" with new, effective, pleasing treatments. Portrait® Plasma is that treatment.”
